FERRYBOX

Ship mounted oceanographic instrument connected to the ship cooling water system, measuring water surface parameters along the ship travel path.

Installed on a ship-of-opportunity, it is a cost-effective way to collect water quality data with high regularity and spatial resolution.

Highly configurable

Ferryboxes are tailored to fit the vessel and sensors selected, to best suit the project. The versatile design combined with our smart data logger enables us to add or change sensors as the needs and expectations change and evolve.

Microplastic and sampling

Microplastic collectors can be activated at specified GPS coordinates and date and run until a set volume of water has passed through the sieve. Current setup has three sieves, but more can be added.

Ferrybox can also be fitted with a water sampler, to collect water at specified locations, if more precise analysis is required.

Smart Process Control

Based on experience, we have implemented several safeguard processes running in the background, such as automatic pump reversal to remove clogging and freswater flush to prevent biofouling.

Control panel for manual override is accessible in any smartphone or computer through our web-based control panel. System telemetry, alerts and measured data can be monitored in real time, enabling low-friction maintenance and operation.
